Asado de bienvenida / Welcome back BBQ 09/28

Welcome back to a new year at Penn State! We would like to invite all current members, friends, and interested Penn State students, faculty, and staff to attend a barbecue Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 1pm. Bring your family and friends and enjoy some delicious asado! Location: Spring Creek Park --> https://goo.gl/maps/QPhNLH6NWSX5QTvHA Ticket fees are: $15/person and $25/family (this fee covers the food and the annual membership fees!) *Payments can be made via Venmo to our Treasurer Laura Stiberman at: @lstiberman OR in CASH the day of the event! We will provide the food but you are free to bring sides and refreshments.

LAGRASA POTLUCK & CARNIVAL!

On Saturday February 18th at 5 p.m. -along with Rio de Janeiro, Barranquilla and many other places in Latin America- we are having a Carnival   here in State College hosted by LAGRASA! So bring any clothes, masks, whistles or any other  type of costume you know that it might be used during “Los Carnavales” and join us to have a lot of fun. We will also have different contests and other surprises as well as la HORA LOCA!   LAGRASA will provide chicken legs, pork ribs and some homemade beer!   Bring your favorite   traditional dish/drink so we can share. 12th of October

Tomorrow is the 12th of October, which marks another year since Columbus arrived in America.  We invite you to commemorate at Lions Den at 10pm, and afterward we will salsa the night away. See you there!

Asado (Picnic)

Yes, we want to do an Asado, Latin American style, so mark your calendar for Saturday September 17, 2011 . This time we will be hosting it at the Sunset Park (850 McKee St) at 11 A.M. We are providing the meat with Latin American style so other food contributions are welcome! (remember alcoholic beverages ARE NOT allowed in the park). Members go free, and those who are not members and just want to tag along for the asado, can give us a 5 dollar donation. Please, RSVP sending an email to lagrasapsu@gmail.com and let us know if you are attending with relatives and friends. Also, let us know if you need a ride, so we can coordinate with those that are taking their car. See you there!

Here we go 2011! We are planning the activities for the Spring 2011 and we would love to hear from you. So please leave your suggestions in the comments of this post. Tuesday Nov. 30th. 7pm. 113 Carnegie Admission: FREE Light Refreshments Sponsored by LAGRASA and GSA Cafe Film Series Abandoned by their girlfriends for the summer, teenagers Tenoch and Julio meet the older Luisa at a wedding. Trying to be impressive, the friends tell Luisa they are headed on a road trip to a beautiful, secret beach called Boca del Cielo. Intrigued with their story and desperate to escape, Luisa asks if she can join them on their trip. Soon the three are headed out of Mexico City, making their way toward the fictional destination. Along the way, seduction, argument and the contrast of the trio against the harsh realities of the surrounding poverty ensue.

Here we go!

This is it. Finally we got ourselves a website. We'll be posting information related to our group here. We would like to take the opportunity to show our appreciation to the 2009-2010 Board, "The Founding Fathers": David Fleming, Rodrigo Salcedo, Claudia Rojas, Alonso Alfaro, Juan P. Fernandez, Juan L. Jara and Roberto Labrin for their awesome service last year. We will kick off this year's events with a Welcome BBQ for new Latin American Graduate Students. The BBQ will be held on September 4th at 12am at Sunset Park (please see the location below). Donations are $4 for active members (those that paid their membership prior to August) and $6 for non members. New graduate students have free admission! We will provide the meat and non-alcoholic beverages. However, other dishes are welcome (salads, desserts, etc.), and please remember that alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the park . Come with your family and friends and feel free to invite new graduate
